Red Cross Offers Discounted Babysitting Classes

The American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan is offering discounted babysitter training courses for ages 11 and older through the end of July.

Babysitting classes for ages 11 and older are currently available at discounted rates through the Southeastern Michigan Region of the American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross Babysitting Training course teaches babysitters how to care for infants and children, handle emergencies and more.

From now through the end of July, anyone who registers to take the course will receive a 20 percent discount, regardless of when the class takes place, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.

Classes are available online and in person at a variety of locations in Southeast Michigan.

The course teaches babysitters how to:

  • Care for children and infants.
  • Be a good leader and role model.
  • Make good decisions and solve problems.
  • Keep the children and the sitter safe.
  • Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents.
  • Write resumes and interview for jobs.
