The National Weather Service issued a wind chill watch advisory
for the entire metro Detroit area that could stretch from Monday night
and through Wednesday morning. A new wave of Arctic air is expected to
reach the area by late Monday and could send temps well below zero
degrees. Combined with winds anticipated to blow between 10-15 mph, and
the wind chill could plummet temperatures to 30-35 degrees below zero, the NWS warned.
Wind chills may lead to hypothermia or frost bite on skin exposed to the
elements even for just a short time. If you have to venture out, dress in layers and keep your head, face feet and fingers covered at all times.
