Get 'Trained' in Birmingham in December

The model train exhibit is an annual holiday tradition in Birmingham that is already under way. Trains already on display are both classic and contemporary, including a LEGO train and Harry Potter train. See an elevated display, collections from a local collector, and even learn the history of Birmingham's own railway system is also featured.
Here are some highlighted events:
Saturday, Dec. 7: The Birmingham Historical Museum will host a model train clinic by appointment only, so call the museum at 248-530-1928 to register for a 15 minute slot.
Thursday, Dec. 12: is Second Thursday, when the museum stays open until 8 p.m. At we will be holding Readings of the Polar Express for kids are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by the Baldwin Public Library.
Saturday, Dec. 14: Model train expert Jim Greene will present his collection of 1930s trains for model-train enthusiasts of all ages. Tickets are $10 per person, and can be purchased during registration by calling the museum at 248-530-1928.
