First Annual Turkey Shoot Out to Benefit BASCC's Meals on Wheels

Our pick for today: Birmingham Turkey Shoot Out

  • Where: Springdale Golf Course
  • Cost: $25
  • Why Go: Golfers can help those in need this holiday season by attending Birmingham's first annual charity turkey shoot-out. The event includes a 18 holes of golf, lunch and prizes. Those who donate a frozen turkey will receive $10 off the entry fee while those who bring at least two non-perishable food items will receive $5 off the entry fee. All donations will benefit Birmingham Area Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program.

    "Participating in this event is a great way to give back to the community," said Jacky Brito, Birmingham's clubhouse manager. "Golfers will receive a fabulous deal while reaching those in need. It's a win-win for everyone."

    Those who can't play on Saturday are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items at the golf course from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through Nov. 17. Those who donate will receive a $1 off coupon toward a round of golf.
