Feature Photo: Donations Needed for 'Lift Ticket to Warmth'

Adult and children coats and jackets can be dropped off at Birmingham's Don Thomas Sporthaus through Dec. 31.

Give someone the gift of warmth this holiday season as part of the Lift Ticket to Warmth program, which collects and distributes winter coats to those who need them in Metro Detroit, Lansing, Battle Creek and Benton Harbor.

The program is sponsored in part by Summit Sports, which has three locations in Keego Harbor, East Lansing and Brighton, as well as Volunteers of America.

Donations be dropped off at any Summit Sports location, as well as the Don Thomas Sporthaus in Birmingham. Collection continues through Dec. 31.

Last year, Lift Ticket to Warmth collected and distributed more than 230 jackets for adults and children. All individual donating jackets will receive $25 off current year jackets from Summit Sports, or $10 off current year pants.

So, do you have coats ready for donating? Drop them off at any of these locations:
