How long they've had the car: Detrych said he's had the car for 43 years, since 1969, when he purchased the Chevelle as a family car after returning from Vietnam. Detrych didn't finish restoring the car until two years ago, though.
Why this car? After years of driving his kids around and commuting the car, Detrych said it's particularly rewarding to see the Chevelle restored to its original glory.
What is special about the Dream Cruise? Having a car in the Dream Cruise for the first time makes the dream cruise even more special, Detrych said, noting he looks forward to being out for the rest of the week.
