Dream Cruise Snapshot: Local Model A Club Returns to Birmingham

A Bloomfield Hills and Beverly Hills resident talk about their love for Ford Model A's at the Birmingham Cruise Event.

For local car buffs Jack Bahm and Bob Jordan, storing antique Ford Model A's is a hobby — and a passion.

"They have a unique design, and they have a unque endurance," Bahm, a Bloomfield Hills esident, said. "A lot of them are still around."

Bahm and Jordan, a Beverly Hills resident, are park the Oakleaf Model A Restorers Club, a locally-based club with around 70 members, 35 of which are active. The pair were chatting on South Old Woodward early Saturday morning before the official kick-off of the Birmingham Cruise Event.

Jordan said they've been coming to the Woodward Dream Cruise — and the Birmingham Cruise Event — for 13 years.

Yesterday on my street, I saw a tree, on city property, with 'stuff' piled high around the base ofRead More the tree. I tried to tell the two gentlemen there it would eventually kill the tree. 'Not so!' they replied, according to, I believe, their landscaper. They then proceeded to try and placate this nosy gray haired woman. Maybe someone from the city could clue them in??
