Dream Cruise Guide: Birmingham
Here's everything you need to know to experience the Woodward Dream Cruise in Birmingham.
Birmingham doesn't officially sponsor or take part in the Woodward Dream Cruise, but it does hold its own classic car show Aug. 20 along Old Woodward and cruise sponsor Chevrolet will have a display between the 555 building and Lincoln Road.

Aug. 19
Party at : From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Legend, The Band will perform oldies from the 1950s and '60s, Motown, Doo-Wop and a wide range of classic rock 'n' roll hits. Starting at 6 p.m., Toppermost Band will play Beatles music and DJ Boogie Brian will finish off the night from 10 p.m. until close.

Aug. 20
Birmingham Cruise Event: The third annual classic car show will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Old Woodward between Merrill Street and Lincoln Avenue. It will include automotive exhibits and a variety of vendors. Classic rock radio station WCSX, channel 94.7, will broadcast live from a location on South Old Woodward between Haynes and Bowers streets.

Chevy turns 100: Chevrolet will turn 100 years old Nov. 3 and the automaker plans to celebrate early in Birmingham. The official 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise sponsor will set up between the 555 building on South Old Woodward and Lincoln Avenue. The automaker's exhibits and activities will start at 8 a.m. and run until 9 p.m. Hundreds of cars will be on exhibit, including heritage vehicles as well as the new Volt, Sonic, Cruze Eco, and Camaro ZL1. Vehicles from the Transformers movies and a selection of Indy 500 pace vehicles also will be on display. Guy Fieri, host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network, will bring two of his personal Camaros and sign posters from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Party at Hunter House Hamburgers: Elvis Presley tribute artist Fred Wolfe will perform from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Classic Beat also will perform classic rock 'n' roll tunes from the 1950s and '60s from 1-4 p.m. and DJ Boogie Brian will be there throughout the day until the final burger is sold.
Parking: Available for visitors in the city’s five parking garages. Parking is free for the first two hours, and then is $1 an hour after that.
