After Last Year's Storms, Saturday's Cruising Forecast is Cool and Sunny

Temperatures will be in the low 70's Saturday under mostly sunny skies, National Weather Service says.

We know it's hard to accurately predict the weather in Michigan, but it looks like the stars are aligning for the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise.

According to the National Weather Service, the high Saturday is expected to reach 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies — perfect cruising weather.

This is in stark contrast to last year's event, which was nearly rained out halfway through by . In Birmingham, more than 950 households lost power and the Birmingham Cruise Event was shut down an hour early.

Still, despite the sunny forecast, rain is still in the cards for the weekend. The National Weather Service says there's a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Friday and another chance of showers on Sunday.
