Seeking Volunteer Tutors for Pontiac Elementary School

Make a significant difference in the life of an at-risk child. No teaching experience required! Last June Alcott Elementary School in Pontiac, MI had 390 students enrolled with nearly 40 students/class. With the closing of Whitman Elementary, Alcott's enrollment now stands at 585 with the addition of only three teachers.  First Presbyterian Church partners with Alcott to provide volunteer literacy tutors to make a difference in the lives of children who need extra support.  Tutors are needed during school hours, although some after school programs are also a possibility.
