Michigan Mutual, Inc. Goes Pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Michigan Mutual, Inc., a full-service residential mortgage lender with an office in Birmingham, and other locations across Michigan and the United States, is hosting “Pink Out Friday” every week throughout the month of October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Michigan Mutual, Inc. Co-Founder and Senior Vice President Hale Walker made the announcement.

In addition to sporting pink attire every Friday to raise awareness of the disease, the team is hosting various fundraising activities such as company-wide potlucks and a chili cook-off. All funds raised from the activities will be donated to support breast cancer research.

“According to BreastCancer.org, nearly one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, and this year, an estimated 232,340 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed, along with 64,640 cases of non-invasive breast cancer,” said Walker. “Michigan Mutual, Inc. is deeply committed to serving and supporting our community in any way we can. As breast cancer is such a devastating and pervasive disease that impacts many of our team members and the greater community, we felt it was important to do our part to raise awareness and contribute to research to find a cure.”
