Hylant Gives Back Through Volunteer Work at Local Shelter

Hylant, one of the nation’s largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms, recently participated in an intense, two-day volunteer effort with the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS) in Detroit. Patrick McDaniel, president of Hylant’s metro Detroit office, made the announcement.

“Hylant has always been highly committed to, and engaged in, the communities in which we serve,” said McDaniel.  “We are very fortunate to have such a caring team and a company that is equally supportive.  I am proud to say that every one of our 60 Detroit employees participated in this great effort.”

During the two-day project, Hylant’s employees painted interior and exterior areas of the building, prepped and decorated rooms, assisted in assembling and moving furniture, and cleaned and organized storage facilities.  In all, Hylant’s Detroit office deployed nearly 500 hours to support COTS.

COTS is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and comprehensive support services for the homeless and at-risk population in Detroit.
