20th Anniversary — NAWBO Greater Detroit Top 10 Michigan Business Women Awards

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Detroit Chapter, this year, is celebrating its 20th annual Top 10 Michigan Business Women Awards with a celebratory evening at Laurel Manor Banquet and Conference Center in Livonia. NAWBO Greater Detroit is a local organization dedicated to the growth and success of women in the business arena.

Awarded annually, the Top 10 Awards are given to Michigan business women who succeeded and excel at their given professional. This year’s winners are:

An additional recognition — the Greater Good Award —  will be given to Shirley R. Stancato, President of New Detroit. New Detroit is a multicultural leadership group with the goal of developing a greater understanding of the difference between racial and ethnic groups to enhance communication.

“We’re very proud to have such a deserving and accomplished group of women celebrating with us for our milestone 20th annual Top 10,” said Mousumi (Mo) Sarkar, President of NAWBO Greater Detroit Chapter. “To reach 20 years really signifies the area’s acceptance of and commitment to women business leadership.”

Carol Cain, senior producer and host of CBS 62 Michigan Matters, will be leading the evening as the event’s Mistress of Ceremonies. The night also will feature a business-to-business vendor showcase, allowing attendees to view and interact with fellow business owners to create mutually beneficial partnerships.

Tickets ($60 for members, $80 for nonmembers) are available until March 10 at NAWBOGDC.org. Laurel Manor Banquet and Conference Center is located at 39000 Schoolcraft Road in Livonia.
