Rain Expected Today, But Sunny Sunday in Birmingham

Outdoor activities will be a challenge Saturday, but expect better conditions Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service predicts strong wind gusts approaching 40 mph for much of today, but it will subside behind a cold front coming in the late afternoon. Along with the cold front is a 70 percent chance of rain into tonight. Temperatures wil hover at around 50 degrees, but will dip to 35 degrees tonight, making freezing rain or early stages of snow a possibility.

That doesn't necessarily bode well for patrons of the PTSA Groves High School garage sale or anyone taking in the Franklinstein Frenzy

The forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high of 50 degrees. Not bad for a little fun and treats at the Franklin Cider Mill, or if you'd rather be indoors, check out Royal Opera House Cinema Series at the Birmingham 8 Theatre.
