 this area by one of the great hospitals in the United States\, St. Josep
 h Mercy Oakland\, which is part of Trinity Health. Trinity Health in siz
 e is larger than the Henry Ford and Beaumont Health Systems combined and
  additional consolidation is planned for Trinity in the near future.For 
 almost ten years\, St. Joseph has been under the direction of Jack Weine
 r\, President and CEO\, who will update the SMCB on all the accomplishme
 nts during the past year including the major new facilities under constr
 uction and the new\, important partnerships being formed with Wayne Stat
 e University\, DMC Children's Hospital\, and other organizations includi
 ng collaboration by Trinity with the University of Michigan in clinical 
 care\, research and medical education.These are exciting times in health
  care with many new questions on ObamaCare arising daily. Jack Weiner ha
 s led the organization in a major cultural transformation and a $300 mil
 lion campus redevelopment. As a 443 bed community teaching hospital in O
 akland County and under his leadership\, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland has be
 come the regional leader in clinical quality and safety. The campus rede
 velopment and expansion includes the current construction of a new Patie
 nt Tower that will include state of the art technology found in only one
  other hospital in the country.Jack will take the Senior Mens Club membe
 rs through these exciting developments as well as tell them about the ho
 spital's many top rankings\, such as being one of the top 50 cardiovascu
 lar hospitals in the country\, and among the leaders for women's health 
 excellence\, orthopedic surgery and joint replacement. Prior to joining 
 St. Josephs in 2003\, Jack Weiner served as President and CEO of St. Jos
 eph's Mercy of Macomb as well as other positions at hospitals in&nbsp\;G
 rand Rapids\, Mount Clemens\, Jackson\, Kalamazoo\, and Philadelphia ove
 r a 35 year period. He began as a pharmacist upon completing his PharmD 
 degree in clinical pharmacy in 1974 from&nbsp\;Wayne State University. H
 e holds a Master of Arts degree in health services administration from t
 he University of Michigan. Jack is a Birmingham resident.
