Stop by Shain Park every weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas and pay a visit to Santa at Birmingham's very own Santa House, located near Merrill and Henrietta.

Children can let Santa know what they want this year up until Christmas Eve, and even have their picture taken with him. The visit is free though a $5 for the Leader Dogs for the Blind and the Birmingham Lions Club is encouraged.

Santa will be available during the following hours for the 2012 holiday season:

Nov. 21: 6:30-8 p.m.
Nov. 23: 2-5 p.m.
Nov. 24: 1-4 p.m.
Nov. 25: 1-4 p.m.
Nov. 30: 3-8 p.m.
Dec. 1: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Dec. 2: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Dec. 7: 3-5 p.m.
Dec. 8: 1-4 p.m.
Dec. 9: 1-4 p.m.
Dec. 14: 3-5 p.m.
Dec. 15: 1-4 p.m.
Dec. 16: 1-4 p.m.
Dec. 21: 3-5 p.m.
Dec. 22: 1-4 p.m.
Dec. 23: 1-4 p.m
Dec. 24: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Located in heart of downtown Birmingham, Shain Park is a gathering place for Birmingham's residents. Boxed between Martin, Merrill, Henrietta and Bates streets, the park is a popular spot to relax, enjoy an open-air lunch or watch a concert. And with City Hall, the Birmingham Community House and Baldwin Public Library next door, there's no way to miss it.

With an elegant sculpture as its centerpiece, the park is flanked by two focus points. An open-air concert stage sits on the south end, while a fountain adorns the north side. In between there is plenty of open green space for a game of tag or tossing a ball.
