The Birmingham Area Seniors Coordinating Council and Center (BASCC) is a organization that provides resources as well as educational, recreational and social programs for Birmingham seniors.  Classes include knitting, quilting, book clubs, computer training, yoga and beginning bridge.

The center also offers various outreach programs, many of which cater of the medical needs of older adults. These include blood pressure clinics, medicare and medicaid counseling, minor home repair services, and senior housing tours.
