Woman Reports Sexual Assault; Police Break Up Several Late-Night Fights

Woman says man in a mask sexually assaulted her
Police are investigating after a 26-year-old woman said a man sexually assaulted her in her apartment. According to police reports, the woman lives on the 1600 block of Graefield with several roommates. The group was returning home around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, after which the woman went to bed. Her roommates and a few friends who were with them left for about 30 minutes, according to the report.
However, police reports state the woman discovered a man in the bedroom who began to sexually assault her. The report indicated the woman fought back, and the man fled the room. One of the woman's friends also returned to the apartment after hearing the woman's cries for help, and saw the man had run out the back door. None of the women know how the man entered the home.
Police describe the man as short, having a thin build and wearing an off-white and possibly plastic mask. He was wearing a wide brown belt and a hoodie.
Parolee flees police after traffic stop
A 25-year-old man from Auburn Hills was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges of narcotic possession as well as fleeing police. According to police reports, an officer attempted to pull over the man's car for an equipment violation near Woodward and Oak Street, but the car continued northbound on Woodward and then turned right onto Big Beaver.
According to reports, the car then stopped and the man, who was driving, got out and began running north into Bloomfield Township. A K-9 unit was brought in to track the suspect, who was later caught near Brookdale and Charring Cross roads by Bloomfield Township Police.
According to police, the man — who was also on a parole tether from the Michigan Department of Corrections — had a K-2 narcotic in the vehicle. The man was turned over the Michigan Department of Corrections. A woman with him in the car was at first apprehended by police but then later released at the scene.
Women gets sick at bar, tested later for date rape drug
Doctors at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills are awaiting toxicology results to see if a woman was slipped a "date rape drug" while at South Bar Saturday night.
According to police reports, the woman told police she and her friends were at South Bar Saturday night for drinks. After awhile, she became dizzy and fell ill, then told police she doesn't remember anything until she woke up at Crittenton Hospital at around 1 a.m.
According to reports, her friends became concerned when the woman fell ill and brought her home, but when her condition worsened, they called paramedics. Doctors at the hospital told police they believe the women ingested GHB, otherwise known as a date rape drug.
Man reports being assaulted by large group outside Chen Chow
On Thursday, a man reported that he had been assaulted outside of Chen Chow early Saturday morning.
According to reports, the man said he had just left Chen Chow around 2 a.m. Saturday when he saw a car parked with six men and two women inside. The man said he had seen the group of men inside, so he started to make small talk.
At that point, reports state the driver of the car got out and struck the man in the head. As the man was trying to defend himself, the five other men got out of the car, knocked the man to the ground and began kicking him, reports state. All six men then got back in the car and drove away.
The injured man went to William Beaumont Hospital in Troy for treatment. Birmingham police, joined by officers from Beverly Hills and Bloomfield Township, was dispatched to a fight outside Chen Chow that night but by the time they arrived, the suspects and victim were gone and the crowd had dispersed.
Police respond to fights at Hamilton Room, Streetside Seafood
According to police reports, both fights occurred around 2 a.m. At the Hamilton Room, officers responded to a fight in the bar area involving a large group of men. Only one man said he had been assaulted but was uncooperative and wouldn't give officers any additional information.
At Streetside Seafood, a fight erupted on the sidewalk when one man said three other men were talking in a derogatory manner to the woman he was with. He told police when he advised the group to stop, he was assaulted. Police say the man didn't wish to pursue the matter.
PlayStation, laptop taken from homes
Computer equipment, a Sony PlayStation, a snow blower and a power washer was taken from a home on the 1100 block of East Maple Monday. According to police reports, the homeowner left the home from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; when they returned, all the items were gone. There was no sign of forced entry.
Meanwhile, a homeowner on the 800 block of Southfield reported that a laptop computer had been taken from their house between 7-10:30 p.m. Saturday. Reports state the homeowner discovered the back door was unlocked; they told police they believe the intruder discovered where a hidden key was located to open the door.
