Weekend Weather: Thunderstorms in the Forecast Saturday, Sunday

Rain is expected all weekend long, though the high Sunday is expected to climb to 78 degrees.

Get ready for a potentially stormy weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 70 percent chance of rain Saturday, especially after 9 a.m. Thunderstorms are likely, the national service says. The high will be near 65 degrees, with wind gusts reaching up to 23 miles an hour.

Saturday night, the rain and thunderstorms continue into the night, mainly before 2 a.m. Skies will be cloudy otherwise, with a low of 57 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. In total, rainfall levels are expected to be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch during the day Saturday and overnight.

On Sunday, the chance of thunderstorms continue, mainly after 8 a.m. It will be warmer, however; the high is expected to reach 78 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday night, the rain continues with a low around 51 degrees. Looking ahead to Monday, the rain and chance of storms continues with a 70 percent chance of precipitation all day. Otherwise, skies will be cloudy with a high near 63 degrees.
