There's a lot happening this weekend in Birmingham, but if you do go out, make sure you keep an umbrella handy because the weather could be on the rainy side.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday is forecasted to have a high of 60 degrees, with an 80 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms all day, particularly after 8 a.m. New rainfall could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
The rain and storms could pose a problem for the line-up of events scheduled for Birmingham Saturday and Sunday, including Common Ground's Street Art Fair, the Torry Neighborhood Association's 5K and the Rail Jam. Make sure you stay tuned to Patch for news of any cancellations.
Saturday night, the low will dip down to 44 degrees, though the skies should be clear. That could change on Sunday, when there's a 30 percent chance of showers. Temperatures are forecasted to reach 58 degrees. Sunday night, the low will be 42 degrees.
Looking ahead to Monday and the last week of September, the skies will clear up and be sunny, with a high of 62 degrees.
