Seaholm Finishes Behind Brother Rice in Oakland County Swimming Championships
The Seaholm boys swimming team finished second during Saturday county-wide swimming meet.
It was a close one, but in the end, Seaholm High School came in second during Saturday's Oakland County Swimming Championship, held at Lake Orion High School.
Instead, it was Seaholm's next door neighbor Brother Rice who came in first place with a total of 347 points, beating Seaholm's 316 points.
"It's a lot of fun coming in here and swimming fast," Brother Rice coach Mike Venos told MIPrepZone.
According to MIPrepZone, Brother Rice won four events on Saturday. The Warriors are currently ranked at No. 2 in Division 1.
Seaholm is currently ranked first in Division 2 but weren't able to win any events on Saturday. Seaholm's Connor Saeli did pull out a second place win in the 50-meter freestyle, while Seaholm's 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle relay teams also placed second — though every time finishing just behind Brother Rice.
Last year, the Maples won third at the Division 2 state swimming finals, coming in right behind their inter-city rivals Groves, who placed second. On Saturday, however, Groves placed 18th overall with 23 points, right behind Detroit Country Day, who finished with 49.5 points.
