It's hot outside. In combination with the head index, temperatures could climb as high as 100 degrees today and tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. If things keep going the way they are, this week's heat wave is on track to be the longest duration of hot and humid conditions since July 1995.

With the kids home from school, you may be hearing a lot of complaints of boredom what with being stuck in the house all day. But how else do you keep them safe from the heat?
