Michigan Fine Arts Competition exhibit wraps up Friday
The entries and winners from the 2012 Michigan Fine Arts Competition will only be on display for a few more days at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC). The exhibit ends Friday.
Lynn Spanke of Detroit won the top prize in this year's competition, during which 177 artists from around the state submitted 236 pieces of all shapes, sizes and mediums. Spanke's piece "We Believe in Dreams" won her $5,000. Artists from Troy, Holly and Bloomfield Hills also placed.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during normal gallery hours. The BBAC is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
