Couple tries to steal cart full of Red Bull, police say
Police are looking for two suspects after CVS employees said a man and woman tried to steal a shopping cart full of Red Bull energy drinks from the drugstore Wednesday. According to store employees, the couple were both approximately 30-40 years old.
As the couple tried to wheel the shopping cart out the rear door of CVS around 2 p.m., police reports say the manager confronted them and asked for a receipt. According to police, they then left the store and drove away in an older model silver Grand Am, with a possible license plate of CUM6972.
Detroit men found with drugs, alcohol, knives
Two Detroit men were arrested early Saturday morning after they were found driving around Birmingham in a car full of illegal drugs, weapons and alcohol. The men, both 19 years old, were pulled over near Woodward and Ruffner around 3 a.m. Saturday.
According to police reports, they were found in possesson of marijuana, cocaine, an open bottle of liquor, an open can of beer, three knives and a pellet gun. Both were arrested for narcotics possession.
Shelby Township, West Bloomfield residents arrested for drunk driving
This will kill your holiday buzz fast: two drunk drivers were arrested by Birmingham Police this week.
The first was arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday near Maple and Cambridge. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Shelby Township, was pulled over for driving erratically and placed under arrest after he was found under the influence of alcohol.
The second was arrested only a few hours later, around 5 a.m. near Maple and Woodward. The woman, a 22-year-old from West Bloomfield, was also pulled over for driving erratically and arrested for drinking and driving.
House on Humphrey egged for third time
Now, that's not how you express "goodwill towards men." Police say a home on the 600 block of Humphrey was "egged" for the third time in four months sometime between 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 and noon on Sunday, Dec. 23. There are no suspects or witnesses in the case.
Michigan State sign taken from front yard
Maybe the thieves were Michigan fans? A large metal Michigan State University sign was taken from the front yard of a home on the 300 block of Bryn Mawr sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and midnight Saturday, police say. There are no suspects at this time.
Beverly Hills man caught breaking windows at parking garage
Birmingham Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Beverly Hills after he was caught breaking the windows of a car parked in the Pierce Street Parking Garage. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, police say. Police say several items taken from the vandalized vehicle were found in the man's car.
Resident suspects contractor in jewelry theft
A resident on the 1100 block of Buckingham suspects a building contractor may have stolen her jewelry, a police report reads. According to police, the woman reported jewelry had been taken from her jewelry box sometime between Saturday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 22. A private contractor, she said, had been in home recently.
