Fuel Report: Gas Prices Jump 30 Cents in Birmingham Monday

The snow continues to fall but at least in Birmingham, gas prices are on the rise.

According to the AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Metro Detroit is $3.67 this morning — up 30 cents from last week's average of $3.37.

If you're still looking for inexpensive gas, you could travel to Wyandotte, which boasts the cheapest gas in the region. A Marathon station at Biddle Avenue and Ford Road is selling gas for $3.39 a gallon Monday morning.

That isn't the case in Birmingham. Around town, the lowest price you'll find is $3.69 at several stations, including the Speedway and Citgo stations on Woodward. Meanwhile, gas prices are nearly $3.90 at the Mobil station on 14 Mile Road.
