Ten upper school students in the Giving Back to the Community Class at Birmingham's Eton Academy — a school for special learners — collected $600 last week for the Red Cross clean-up effort in Dexter.

The students hosted a "Dress Down Day" for the entire school and collected donations. Funds will be used to clean up from the tornado that struck Dexter a few weeks ago.

The class includes: Austin Conway, Hannah Campbell, Aidan Crane, Lauren Daniels, Lindsey Duda, Evan Lane, Michael Rosenthal, Brett Rons, Sean Sullivan and Eli Yaker.
