Birmingham students learned a little bit about healthy eating — and cooking — last week during the Sodexo Future Chefs competition, held on Tuesday at Seaholm High School.

In the end, Anna Kozleski, a fifth grader from Pierce Elementary, was crowned champion, winning a bushel basket full of kitchen equipment. The competition, during which students created recipes using the theme "healthy salads," was open to third-fifth grade students from all Birmingham Public Schools elementaries.
