5 Things To Know This Week: Back-to-School Forum, Social Mixer Thursday
Here's what you need to know about Birmingham this week.
- City Commission to meet Monday: The Birmingham City Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. On the agenda yet again is the public hearing to request the revocation of South Bar's liquor license.
- Back-to-School Breakfast Wednesday: The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber will host a back-to-school breakfast and forum with Birmingham Public Schools superintendent Daniel Nerad and Bloomfield Hills Schools superintendent Robert Glass. The breakfast begins at 8 a.m. at the Birmingham Conference Center.
- Local resident's film showing all week: WaterWalk: A Passage of Ghosts, starring and directed by area resident Bob Cicchini, will be showing at the Birmingham 8 all week long. Cicchini will also be in town for various appearances this week, during which Uptown Entertainment will host giveaways and opportunities to chat with the actors.
- Social mixer Thursday: The Blackwood Business Club will be hosting a social mixer and networking event beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at Zazios. The event will include appetizers for the first hour and exclusive drink specials. Entrance is $15 if you RSVP early and $20 at the door.
- July 2011 property taxes due Friday: Friday is the last day to pay July 2011 property taxes without penalty. For more information, call 248-530-1980.
