5 Easy Ways to Share Your School Year on Birmingham Patch

Want to show off what your student organization, PTA or sports team is doing this school year? Post your accomplishments on Patch!

For many students in Birmingham, the day has come. Tuesday is the first day of school for the students at Birmingham Public Schools and the Roeper School (those attending Holy Name School and Our Shepherd Lutheran School started last week).

We know there are great stories happening to Birmingham students every day, and while Birmingham Patch will be following what's happening at schools all year long, we can always use your help. Lucky for you: it's really easy.

Not sure where to start? For all those parents, teachers and students, here's five easy ways you can share your school year on Patch:

1. Add photos to our Pics & Clips gallery

Have a photo? Want to share with your neighbors? Upload it to our Pics & Clips gallery! So whether you attend Berkshire or Roeper, Holy Name or Beverly, or even Detroit Country Day and Brother Rice, share your photos by visiting Pics & Clips on the homepage and clicking "Upload Photos and Videos." It's that easy.

2. Show off achievements with a Patch announcement

Did your student win a scholarship, get accepted to a post-graduation fellowship program or was recognized by the MHSAA? Show off your pride and share your student's achievement — whatever it is — by uploading an announcement. You can even upload a photo with your announcement. To learn how, watch Patch's video tutorial.

3. Blog about your team, club or organization

Are you part of your school's PTA, band boosters, football team, girl scout troop or other organization? Share your latest news by blogging about on Patch. With a blog, you can regularly share photos and provide updates for the community, look for volunteers and promote any upcoming meetings. It's easy and you can get started today. Just visit hit "Start a Blog" on the homepage and click "Post on Patch." You can write as long, and as often, as you like. Email Laura.Houser@patch.com if you have questions.

4. Add your events to our community calendar

Want to get the word out about an upcoming fundraiser or other event? Post it on Birmingham Patch's events calendar. Just visit the Events page and click "Add an Event." To learn how, watch Patch's video tutorial.

5. Reach out

Do you want to see Birmingham Patch cover your event or write about your program? Do you know of an awesome student who should be spotlighted? Just email Editor Laura Houser at Laura.Houser@patch.com — we love story ideas!
