The Community House has named Marcia M. Tourney, of Troy, the Artist of the Month for August and September. Tourney's work will be featured in the Martha Maxwell Gallery, located on the second floor of The Community House, during the entirety of August and September.

Marcia’s work features water media, watercolor, monotypes, acrylics and mixed media, with many of the landscapes were painted on location. The still lifes and models were painted at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.

Tourney's paintings are also featured in the corporate collections of Klockner Steel Corp., Thyssen A.G. Corp., Michigan National Bank and hundreds of private collections. 

There are 29 of Tourney's works in The Community House exhibit. The pieces range in price from $90-$700.

The public is welcome to view the artwork from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The pieces will be on display through September 25.
