Patch was alerted early Wednesday that a Birmingham family lost their new puppy around 5 p.m. Tuesday near Booth Park.
According to Jim Schea:
"We've had a new fairly young pup which we got from an animal shelter two weeks ago. As part of giving this beautiful animal a good home, we took him to for a walk and play at Booth Park on Old N. Woodward next to Salvatore Scalapini.
"Unfortunately, this collar must have been a bit too loose and he slipped out of it and took off running after a bird ... and kept going approx. 5 p.m. Tuesday. We searched into the night, but could not find him."
Schea said the puppy's name is Bentley, though he might not answer to that yet. He believes the dog is probably in the vicinity of Harmon Street and the surrounding neighborhoods, and is offering a reward.

Bentley looks more like a small FOX than many dogs. He has been seen on Wednesday morning and agin this morning Thursday in the area of Old N. Woodward and Oak and ran West on Oak from the Mobile Gas Station. He was seen by Larry (Birmingham parking meter person) both days and Wednesday though he had seen a FOX. Thank you, Jim
