Beaumont Hospital, Troy was recently named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics. The recognition is based on a hospital’s overall organizational performance. This marks the 10th time Beaumont has been recognized as a top hospital.

The Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals® study evaluates performance in 10 areas encompassing quality, efficiency, finance and consumer assessment of care. The hospitals that made the list have the highest ranking on a composite score of all the measures. The study has been conducted annually since 1993.

Beaumont, Troy was one of 25 hospitals recognized in the “Teaching Hospitals” category.

To conduct the 100 Top Hospitals study, Truven Health researchers evaluated nearly 3,000 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals. Results are based on public information including Medicare cost reports; Medicare Provider Analysis and Review data; and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Hospital Compare dataset. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market this honor.

The winning hospitals were announced in the Feb. 25 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
